Tweeluik, de boom van de pad/ Diptych, the toad's tree

The tree is Salix Udensis 'sekka' - fantail willow. It is (or used to be) home to a toad (as discovered by my son some years ago). For me, it is reminiscent of that short period in a parent's life when the children have just turned adults and you neither have to educate them nor entertain.

Studie met gescheurd groen blad

Geïnspireerd op mijn werkje "Studie in kleur" (hier te zien - opent in nieuw venster). Omgekeerd, in de zin dat het groene boven het rode staat; dat het onderliggende (bruinrode) werk eerst bestond. Het trompe l'oeil effect is expliciet in het linkse doek. Wat ik met het rechtse doek zal doen staat nog niet vast - wellicht abstract.
